Dr. William Scott III, MD, FAAFP


Dr. ScottDr. Scott was born in Greenville, South Carolina on October 20, 1947 to Evelyn and Bill Scott, longtime residents of Easley, South Carolina. He attended grammar school and high school in Easley and attended The Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina. Dr. Scott graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Physics from The Citadel in 1969.

He then joined the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam Era and was honorably discharged in 1972. Dr. Scott then attended Clemson University, where he received his preparatory courses for medical school.

He was accepted to the Medical University of South Carolina and graduated with his M.D. degree in 1977. Dr. Scott then attended the family practice residency in Greenville South Carolina where he graduated in 1980. Dr. Scott also became board certified in addiction medicine in 2009. He also received a certification in functional medicine and age management through Cenegenics in 2012.

Dr. Scott has held various positions in partnerships and solo practices in his career, initially with Rogers, Walsh and Scott, Fleetwood Internal Medicine and Family Practice and ultimately establishing his own family practice in 1995 in the Piedmont, SC area.

Dr. Scott has also held other positions, including a position as an emergency room Physician in the emergency department at Palmetto Baptist Hospital in Easley and also working as an admitting Physician through the emergency room and the intensive care unit at Palmetto Baptist Medical Center.

Dr. Scott has had extensive experience in various fields including pediatrics, emergency room practice, hospital admitting Physician, and private family practice.

Dr. Scott started his concierge medicine practice in 2009. He feels that his current practice of concierge medicine is the most rewarding endeavor in medicine that he’s experienced to date.

Dr. Scott received certification from the Cenegenics Medical Institute in 2012, and has been practicing in the field of functional medicine for three years now, in addition to his general medical practice. He has trained in pellet replacement therapy by Dr. Mark Richards MD, Board Certified in Plastic Surgery.

Dr. Scott is the proud parent of two children, twins, John Scott of Liberty, South Carolina and Jennifer Blakely of Easley, South Carolina, who has given him two lovely grandchildren, Gracie and Emma.
